Chartier Leads for Day 2 of the EPT Prague Main Event
At EPT5 Barcelona, he made it to the final table, eventually finishing seventh for €178,000. Chartier has already had a good year - during WSOPE Berlin in October, he had two fourth place finishes for a combined haul of more than €210k - and the $2,252,435 he has accrued so far in live tournament winnings have put him in the top #30 in Canada's all-time money list.
With 783 players for Day 1b yesterday and 254 on Day 1a = this is the third consecutive time that the EPT Prague Main Event has attracted 1,000+ players. The total now stands at 1,037 but late registration is open until the start of play day 2 so it's likely that the number of entrants will grow still further. At least 581 players have made it through the first day; Day 1a's 144 survivors will be joined by another 437 from yesterday.
Day 1b saw numerous well-known players survive including EPT9 Prague champion Roberto Romanello, who bagged up 158,700 and Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst (110,400). Johnny Lodden (66,000), Mickey Petersen (38,800), Matthias De Meulder (37,400), Ivan Demidov (36,900), Jamie Staples (31,200), Chris Moneymaker (28,200), George Danzer (27,600), Theo Jorgensen (22,200), Eugene Katchalov (15,400) and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (13,600) will also continue to represent the red spade on Day 2.
