EPT €10K High Roller: 3-way deal to end it. Kornuth gets the most!
The affable American pro was three-handed with Philipp Gruissem and Sergey Lebedev when they agreed an ICM deal to end the tournament - just like Kanit did in the €10k High Roller back at EPT12 Barcelona. Kornuth snagged the trophy, title and biggest chunk of the remaining prize money earning €351,108.
Kornuth, who was the 2015 PCA Main Event third place finisher, has been on a hot streak in 2016. He was seventh in the January's PCA $25k High Roller for $192,780 and followed that by winning the A$25k Challenge for over half a million US dollars. Then came his earlier mentioned runner-up finish in Dublin where Kornuth scooped another €360,150. Combined with today's handy win, Kornuth has now amassed more than $1.5 million this year.
Philip Gruissem took €292,750 for the deal-determined second place to move over the $10 million mark in live tournament winnings. He's now ranked #2 to Tobias Reinkemeier in the German all-time money list. And for Sergey Lebedev, it was a back-to-back third place EPT €10k High Roller finish; he was also third in Dublin. Lebedev banked €291,162 this time and moves to the top 20 in Russia's all-time money list. German wunderkind Fedor Holz, the 2014 WCOOP World Champion, came fourth for €169,000.
