Jaffe Takes Day 1B Lead in the PCA Main Event
Jaffe has also amassed more than $2 million in live tournament winnings with most of his cashes coming in North America. Jaffe previously cashed in just one EPT Main Event, which came five years ago here at the PCA - he finished 133rd back then.
Although he topped all 688 entrants tonight, it's Day 1a chip leader Toby Lewis who retained the lead for Day 2 with 188,000.
Among those who bagged a six digits stack on Day 1b were Vicente Delgado Zamorano (128,700), Zvi Stern (114,700), Calvin Anderson (113,200), Joao Vieira (109,700), Rumen Nanev (107,700) and Jeffrey Rossiter (103,500).
Strong group of players representing the red spade survived Day 1b - Team PokerStars Pros Jake Cody (51,300), Eugene Katchalov (37,200), Daniel Negreanu (23,600), Jason Mercier (21,900), Barry Greenstein (21,500) and Victor Ramdin (9,900) as well as Team Online's Marc-Andre Ladouceur (76,200), George Lind (40,500) and Jaime Staples (14,200).
At least 561 players will come back for Day 2. Late registration remains open until the restart.
The PCA has been part of the European Poker Tour since 2008 with Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier being the first player to lift the EPT trophy here in the Bahamas. Last season, Kevin Schulz beat a 816-strong field to take the title along with the $1,491,580 first prize.
