Kanit Finishes Job. Wins EPT12 Dublin €25K HR for €501.640

After an outstanding 2015, former Italian Player of the Year Mustapha Kanit continues to stun EPT aficionados with his performances in High Roller events. Today, the 25-year-old from Ravenna, a town on Italy's Adriatic coastline, took down the €25k High Roller at the EPT12 Dublin Poker Festival.

Leading for nearly whole final table session (losing the chip lead only for a few hands heads-up), Kanit found his way to the €501,640 first prize.

Back in May 2015, Kanit secured his first EPT High Roller title, taking down the inaugural EPT Single Day High Roller at the EPT11 Grand Final for €936,500. At the beginning of this season, he took over the #1 position in the Italian all-time money list when he won the €10k High Roller in Barcelona. Since then, he has added another $1.4 million to take his live tournament winnings to over $6 million. Kanit's also well known online, using the moniker "lasagnaaammm" on PokerStars. He's the reigning SCOOP-H Main Event champion, winning $1,304,720 along with the title back in May 2015.

Kanit beat American pro Chance Kornuth heads-up. The 29-year-old PCA 2015 finalist is also celebrating an remarkable achievement here in Dublin. Since the beginning of this year, he's made three High Roller final tables on a three different continents. After finishing seventh in the PCA 2016 $25k High Roller (Kanit was fourth there), Kornuth took down the AU$25k Challenge at Aussie Millions. Adding another €360,150 for his runner-up finish tonight, Kornuth's now amassed more than $1.15 million in live tournament winnings this year alone.

Third place finisher Charlie Carrel won €234,100 to bring his live earnings to just over $2 million. Two satellite qualifiers turned their investment into a six-figure profit. EPT11 Prague runner-up Anton Bertilsson took €176,640 for fourth while Keith Johnson bust in sixth for a €106,330 payday.

There were 70 entries to the EPT12 Dublin €25k High Roller (58 unique players + 12 re-entries). In addition to Day 1's 66 entries, four more players joined the field at the beginning of Day 2. The prize pool totaled €1,715,000. You can find the live coverage on the PokerStars blog.
