Moradi Leads EPT Prague at the End of Day 2

Only a few players from Iran have cashed in the EPT Main Event before but Abbas Moradi has not only cashed, he's now coming back for Day 4 of the EPT12 Prague Main Event as chip leader with 1,384,000. Originally from Iran's capital Tehran, the 50-year-old also has a Canadian passport.

So far, most of his poker results come from Cyprus and he's currently ranked eighth in the Iran all-time money list. With his first EPT cash here in Prague, he'll now move over $100k in live tournaments winnings.

On Day 4, Moradi will be accompanied by another player of Iranian descent, Hossein Ensan who is, however, representing Germany where he has lived since he was 25. Ensan, who was third at EPT11 Barcelona, currently has 1,120,000, putting him in third place among the 67 players left in the tourney.

Niall Farrell is the last EPT champion still in the event and has 828,000. Together with his EPT12 Malta winning run, the Glaswegian has just played his ninth consecutive day of the EPT Main Event without being eliminated.

Other notable names in the remaining field include Team PokerStars Pro Ivan Demidov, Sam Chartier, Kitty Kuo, EPT12 Malta third place finisher Jaroslaw Sikora, EPT8 Prague runner-up David Boyaciyan, EPT London High Roller winner Andrew Chen, Anton Astapau and EPT10 Prague finalist Ka Kwan Lau, who's currently living here in Prague.

EPT12 Prague Main Event top five chip counts:
1st - Abbas Moradi, Iran, 1,384,000
2nd - Preben Stokkan, Norway, PokerStars player, 1,175,000
3rd - Hossein Ensan, Germany, 1,127,000
4th - Vlado Banicevic, Montenegro, 1,096,000
5th - Samuel Vousden, Finland, PokerStars player, 1,010,000

For a third consecutive season, the €5,300 EPT Prague Main Event has attracted more than a thousand players. This year, 1,044 took their seats and created a €5,063,400 prize pool to be shared by top 151 finishers. While defending champion Stephen Graner was eliminated on Day 1b, his successor will take home a juicy €921,540 first prize together with the title and coveted EPT trophy.
