O'Dwyer Takes Down EPT Prague €50K Super High Roller
This season's Prague SHR attracted some of the biggest names in poker and it was a stellar line-up that made it through to today's final. O'Dwyer's final opponent was Canadian Sam Greenwood and the pair cut a heads-up deal during the dinner break, leaving most of the money locked up and playing for just €22k, the trophy, the title and Global Poker Index points. Greenwood secured €643,607 for his runner-up finish; Igor Kurganov was third for €376,400 while Polish wunderkind Dzmitry Urbanovich, who only entered the tourney at the start of Day 2, finished fourth for €285,000.
There were 56 entries in the event, which was on the EPT Prague schedule for the second time after its debut last year.
O'Dwyer has had an astonishing year, winning well over $4.8 million in the last 12 months alone. This includes his two EPT Super High Roller titles plus earning € 327,030 in just a single day in the special €10k One-Day High Roller at EPT Malta in October. Today's victory brings his lifetime live tournaments winnings to over $12 million; further incredible achievements include winning the EPT9 Grand Final and the APPT 2014 Asia Championship of Poker last November.
