Dietrich Fast Leads Day 3 of WPT L.A. Poker Classic

With three days of poker in the books, Dietrich Fast leads the final 42 players remaining in the WPT L.A. Poker Classic. There were 111 players who made their way back to the Commerce Casino on Monday for Day 3 and surviving long enough to earn a cash was the thought on everybody’s mind. There were 111 players who started the day, but only the top 63 would earn a payday.

The bubble was reached in the fourth level of play and hand-for-hand play lasted for about an hour. It took a cooler situation to pop the bubble with Alon Yehudai’s aces getting cracked by David Farber’s kings in an all in preflop confrontation. The king on the flop sealed Yehudai’s fate and guaranteed everybody remaining a min-cash of at least $18,240.

Among those who were unable to survive long enough to earn a cash include Steve Gross, Javier Zarco, Kelly Minkin, current WPT Player of the Year leader CAte Hall, Andy Spears, Connor Drinan, Champions Club Member David Paredes, Champions Club Member Andy Frankenberger and Club WPT Qualifier Jason Kim.

Scott Clements, Nick Rampone, Chris DeMaci, Joe McKeehen, Phil Laak and Barry Hutter were among the players who failed to survive the day, but survived long enough to earn a cash.

The aforementioned Fast bagged the most chips of anybody who finished the day after putting 1,070,000 and is the only player above the million chip mark. Joining him at the top of the counts are Sam Soverel, Ty Reiman and Danny Nguyen after bagging 979,000, 937,000 and 729,000 chips, respectively.

Farid Jattin (661,000), John Hennigan (658,000), Shane Schleger (542,000), Champions Club Member Mike Shariati (473,000), Joseph Cheong (429,000), Ryan Riess (420,000), Champions Club Member Matthew Lapossie (379,000), Alex Keating (369,000), Stephen Chidwick (348,000), Dan Shak (313,000) and Champions Club Member Will Failla (306,000) were among the final 42 players who bagged chips.

Day 4 gets cards in the air on Tuesday at noon PT and will play another five, 90 minute levels before wrapping up for the day around 8:30 p.m.
