26.10. |

Ukraine’s Roman Skudar achieved by far the best result of his live poker career last night by beating Poland’s Grzegorz Wyraz heads-up to win the €300 Malta Cup for €48,155. The prize was some 14 times greater than the 38-year-old’s total live tournament winnings to date. Wyraz, who finished third in last season’s IPT Malta High Roller, snagged €29,320 for his runner-up finish while Day 2 chip leader David Breitfuss from Austria was third for €20,580 and Britain’s Neil Ryder, chip leader at the start of the final day, finished fourth for €15,459. There were 894 entries in all, creating a €260,154 prize pool. Among the 134 players to cash were French pro Guillaume Diaz (who won the EPT Deauville €2k), Irish pros David Lappin and Dara O`Kearney , Sweden’s Sofia Lovgren and her boyfriend Luca Moschitta, Team PokerStars Pro Online’s Giada Fang, PokerStars marketing manager Alfonso Cardalda and Christin Maschmann, a project manager at PokerStars HQ.
