Dan Bilzerian & Bill Perkins Looking at $1.2m "Double or Nothing" Bet
According to a recent Cardplayer interview the with Perkins, the onus would this time be on him to complete whatever challenge the pair might agree upon. Early suggestions have included; climbing Mount Everest (ridiculous), walking across the USA (highly improbable), and rowing from England to New York (also massively unlikely) - all of which seem considerably harder than Bilzerian's cycling from LA to Las Vegas in 48 hours.
In fact Bilzerian completed the challenge in just 33 hours. There had been some controversey surrounding some of Bilzerian's methods, chiefly him riding in the wake of a large van for miles along the highway which, according to Perkins, saved Bilzerian "between 4-6 hours". Although Perkins acknowledges that the stunt wouldn't have made any difference to the final outcome of the race, saying, “I didn’t agree to vehicle drafting, but I don’t think at the end of the day it would have made a difference,".
Speaking about the Bilzerian prop-bet in comparison with his other recent losing prop-bet with a poker player, namely the $50,000 he lost to Antonio Esfandiari after the latter successfully "lunged" everywhere for 48 hours, Perkins said that the Bilzerian bet had "more entertainment value", but that considering it cost Perkins 12 times less he said the Antonio bet was more fun dollar-for-dollar.
Esfandiari ended up donating the entire $50k to charity after being disqualified from the PCA Main Event after urinating in a bottle at the table as, due to the prop-bet, found the idea of having to "lunge" all the way to the restroom and back to go pee too much to contemplate as the constant lunging had caused him massive discomfort.
