Greg "Fossilman" Raymer looking for $100K to stake his entire 2016 schedule

t's not unusual for poker players to offset some risk by piecing themselves out to fellow pros/investors. Not many of them, however, are looking for the kind of money 2004 WSOP Main Event Champ Greg "Fossilman" Raymer is asking as he is looking to offload the majority of the $100k or so he needs to fund his entire 2016 tournament ambitions.

According to his profile on YouStake, Raymer has been piecing himself out ever since his PokerStars sponsorship came to an end in 2011, something he actually considers -EV in terms of making money. However, Raymer's wife isn't so keen on him shouldering 100% of the risk in the notoriously high variance live tournament circuit, and he maintains it is "worth it because it provides marriage EV. Happy wife, happy life."

Raymer says he's looking to raise "at least $100k, preferably more", whilst putting in $20k of his own money. He will look to take 40% of any profits, with the remainder to be shared among his backers.

Raymer says he will also play in some cash games, and if he is doing well, may look to buy-in to more or bigger events.

It seems that Raymer is considered a good bet, as he has already raised $55.4k towards his minimu $100k goal, and we've only hit January 6th.

Punters can get a piece of Greg (well 0.1% of his action anyway) from $105. If you fancy your chances with the Fossilman, you can stake him here.
