Ying Lin Chua Wins Largest Freezeout in Asia-Pacific History

Ying Lin Chua took down recently the largest freezeout ever held in the Asia-Pacific region for HK$1,904,000 or approximately US$250,000. Chua won the PokerStars Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon HK$12,000 buy-in Main Event, that attracted a record-breaking field of 1,075 players this year.

"It's a special day for the PokerStars Live team, as we've been looking to crack the one thousand-player milestone since the Red Dragon hit 995 in 2014.

There's been a global surge in reentry events these last few years, so this accomplishment is that much more satisfying to achieve in a classic freezeout format.", said Asia-Pacific Poker Tour President Danny McDonagh in a press release.

The new Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon champion Chua is a Malaysian conference manager. He also took down the World Poker Tour National Philippines for US$86,130 this January, so 2016 has been very successful for him so far.

Macau Poker Cup also featured a HK$80,000 High Roller that attracted a record field of 114 entries. That event was won by Wayne Yap from Singapore for HK$2,292,720 (US$295,000).
